Saudi authorities have announced that a young Sri Lankan woman has been executed for the alleged killing of a child who was in her care in 2005.
Rizana Nafeek, a domestic worker who was just 17 at the time, has always denied the killing of the four month old boy.
Questions have been raised about her treatment while in detention and also about the value of her 'confession', because of language tanslation difficulties.
Saudi has an appalling human rights record and torture is a regular feature of political imprisonment there, to add to the frequency of execution cases.
This case seems particularly repulsive.
