    Another attempt at removing the Twenty-Second amendment!

    Proposing an amendment to the Constitution of the United States to repeal the twenty-second article of amendment, thereby removing the limitation on the number of terms an individual may serve as President.

    IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES

    January 4, 2013

    Mr. SERRANO introduced the following joint resolution; which was referred to the Committee on the Judiciary

    JOINT RESOLUTION

    Proposing an amendment to the Constitution of the United States to repeal the twenty-second article of amendment, thereby removing the limitation on the number of terms an individual may serve as President.

    I cannot see it happening but that wont stop them trying!

    Do you think this is a good idea? Would it remove short termism from political parties and politics in general?

    There's no way that'll get through.
    But how did FDR get 4, I think successive, terms?
    Was the 22nd amendment passed subsequent to that or something?
    (Maybe I should do my own research)

    It was tradition but not law before him and law after him. The max a president can serve presently is 10 years. 2 from is he took over from another President.

    Now they will certainly go bankrupt before the decade is out.
