Reading the Irish Times on line I was struck by an article that screamed hypocrisy loud and clear.
Ian Watkins (Lead singer with the Lostprophets, no I don't know their stuff) was remanded in custody on allegations of plotting to rape a baby, making, downloading and distributing child pornography and accessing "extreme pornography" relating to animals.
He was remanded in custody over the Christmas period with two other women - who face similar child sex charges.
The pair, aged 20 and 24 from Doncaster and Bradford respectively, cannot be named for legal reasons.
A sick as the alleged crimes are, why is the mans name allowed to be splashed all over the media yet his two co-conspirators, both female, remain nameless and protected by legal a cover-up.
He claims he is innocent, but his name is now polluted by the allegations, yet we have no knowledge of the other two who if it comes to nothing can roam free without a stain on their character, Yet if they were plotting to rape a baby then I would assume that one of the women would be more likely to procure such an infant, possibly by natural means, for the attack.
Why do we have one law for alleged male sex criminals and a different one for female ones?
