Default Dads' Army Caught With 'Iraq Style' IED

It appears an R.IRA gang was caught red-handed in Derry last night. Three men in their forties were arrested when police intercepted a car containing a rocket in the Creggan estate. A fourth contemporary was 'captured' nearby.

It seems the younger generation do not see any glamour in 'armed struggle'.

Was this 'Iraq' style mortar modelled on previous 'PIRA style' mortars, by any chance?

If so, why not just say 'PIRA style' and dispense with the unnecessary exoticism of 'Iraq'?

Assuming this thing was in working order it is an extremely ominous and undesirable development.

Provos never had the "Iraq style" technology which is referred to in the article.

Iraqi rebels leapfrogged a whole generation of technology ahead of the provos

Iraqi rebels were former military and engineers with access to tonnes of heavy artillery shells and modern electronics. Although building an IED is scarily simple if you have the explosives.

I did. It said it was of the type used to penetrate armed vehicles.

The IRA also had homemade projectile technology that penetrated armed vehicles.

The forged shaped charges supplied by iran are completely diffrent from a load of explosive and a detonator and completely pointless in Ni as no armoured vehicles that would need that sort of device to hurt are on the streets.
have you met a loyalist Suggesting they really should become part of a united ireland would be like suggesting a space marine has sweaty man sex with an an Orc.
