Default Should RTE apologise to Ireland's Catholics for Rosenstock Eucharist Sketch?

RTE have been asked to apologise by Irish Bishops following a sketch screened depicting communicants spitting in a bucket before receiving what the Bishops insist depicted the Eucharist sacrament?

At the heart of this issue is whether or not it is permissible to mock religion. There was a time in Ireland when the controversial sketch would have ended a career!

Well done. You'll definitely get more than 100 pages out of this one.
Abortion is an act of violence. Violence demeans humanity, particularly violence against women and children.

If the station is an equal opportunity offender and does the same to other religions, Jews, Hindus, Moslems etc then no need to apologize.

Whatever about other religions somehow, I can't see them mocking or denigrating Islam in a comedy sketch

Ireland is not some Muslim fundamentalist hot spot. So no.

No. The days of the catholic church going around demanding apologies for any perceived slight are long over. They can go and fukk right off.

easy target, try the Immans and then their courage might be acknowledged.

In any case, it was clear from the context of the sketch that the target was overhype of the Katie Taylor phenomenon, rather than the Church per se.
