Default Johnny Ronan is not gay. (Irish attitudes to nudity and naturism)

    Johnny's a real Alpha male.
He's got the sports car, the pony tail, the property portfolio.
Probably had one of those big, brick mobile phones when we were queuing up at the phone boxes in the GPO.
Even denied dating hot chicks when nobody claimed he did.
Now, we learn that he knows his Art.
Lets make this clear. Johnny is not gay. He likes hot chicks.
He is absolutely not gay or bisexual in any way.
To prove this he demanded a piece of (very expensive) art outside his office be transformed from a naked man to a naked woman.
    Go Johnny.

Don't worry about what the public want or what the girls in your office want to see?
All this guff about public consultation is just that. Guff.
Who calls the shots when it comes to Irish Art or Dublin planning decisions.
    Doth Johnny protest too much?
And more importantly why did anyone listen to his opinion?
How on Earth can one mans opinion on Art direct the decisions of Irish artists?
Who listened to Johnny and thought, "Yeah, lets change it. Johnny likes titties"
What a joke of a country we were, when we thought we were rich.

    What's your views on nudity?
Would you go nude bathing? In public or in your back yard.
Does nudity make you feel uncomfortable?
Do you turn off the lights in the bedroom?
Are you proud or ashamed of your nude body.

The block was built in 1995 on the site of Boland’s Mills – a key location during the 1916 Rising – and Treasury Holdings intended the sculpture, officially titled “Aspiration” as a piece “commemorating the struggle for freedom” with the climbing figure as “a metaphor for Ireland”. The building was used by Fianna Fáil as a headquarters for the party’s general election campaign in 2007. It now houses Nama.
In one paragraph Michael Parson's captures the essence of modern Ireland.

What a plonker. And what fools to let him have his way-if such was indeed the case-instead of telling him to take a hike.

Well whatever you might think about the nude girl/boy sculpture, they are certainly better than what was Option 3 at the time: a life-size bronze statue of Johnny Ronan himself:

    Tell us about it!
He'll probably lose his thread starting rights soon at this rate so lets just play this one for laughs while it lasts.

I find it funny that despite all the allegations of Ireland being a conservative Catholic country, the only complaint came from the "well travelled and cultured" Johnny Ronan
