Thread: Marijuana Finally Legalised In Colorado & Washington!!

Default Marijuana Finally Legalised In Colorado & Washington!!

Outside of the Presidency circus that took centre stage in the media, Americans voted on other issues too. One of them was marijuana and the prospect of legalisation for recreational purposes. In Washington and Colorado, the Yes side won out in the end. This is what activists were waiting for, just one state but now they've got two. Watch the rest of America fall like dominos in cannabis legalisation across the board.

Washington will allow those at least 21 years old to buy as much as one ounce (28 grams) of marijuana from a licensed retailer. Colorado’s measure allows possession of an ounce, and permits growing as many as six plants in private, secure areas.

“The voters have spoken and we have to respect their will,” Colorado Governor John Hickenlooper said in a statement. “This will be a complicated process, but we intend to follow through. That said, federal law still says marijuana is an illegal drug so don’t break out the Cheetos or Goldfish too quickly.”

Great news. It's a big fat finger in the eye to the privatised prison industry, a lot of their victims come from the stupid marijuana laws.

Hopefully, 48 further states in America will follow suit, time to end this discredited policy of banning drugs.

Is this outside the remit of medicinal cannabis, ie. retailers can sell it like in the Netherlands, or will it be like California, available by medical cert only?

It's not medicinal, this is for recreational purposes so more or less like the Netherlands. Cannabis is not legal in the Netherlands, they just look the other way. It's 100% legal in Colorado and Washington.
