Default Republican Sinn Fein: "Ireland - A Special Case"

Republican Sinn Fein in their newspaper - before anyone starts, it costs 2 euro and I bought it out of curiosity, not because I support them - gave their opinion on Ireland being a "special case." It is a very hard hitting attack, which brings up our shamed past, such as our refusal to allow Jews into Ireland before and after the Holocaust.

It is a rather hard hitting attack on the 26 county state altogether. However, one can not feel that there is a certain amount of truth to what they have said in their paper Saoirse.

Enda Kenny has been made a European "Special Person." Ireland has been declared a "Special Case" by the Germans.

Gerry Adams says the time for "elites" is in the past and the lowest common denominator should apply in matters of public office. He calls it "Big Democracy". Ironic that we are witnessing the end of democracy as in the disbandment of local accountable town councils and Councillors. The disbandment of the upper house and reduction in the number of Free Staters in their Dáil. Maybe the Germans tell the truth when they describe Ireland as a special case.

For example, Ireland is the "neutral" country which is training Somali mercenaries in Uganda who will then return to their country and impose good "democratic" values upon their populations. Democracy at the point of a gun of course. Most certainly a "special case."

Ireland is the "neutral" country which through Eamon Gilmore recognised German and French backed Libyan mercenaries as a legitimate government.

Ireland is the special case whose State broadcasting body invited the commander of the "Tripoli Brigade" onto the Late Late Show and lauded him as a hero while refusing to ask him about his ties to al-Qaeda and the execution of bound and gagged black men on the outskirts of the city.

Ireland is the special case whose soldiers act as "Advisers" in Afghanistan.

Ireland is the special case whose government handed sovereignty to three unelected bodies in Europe with direct ties to groups which advised Hitler's Nazis on how to seize Jewish property.

Ireland is the special case which sent sympathy to the German State upon the death of Adolf Hitler.

Ireland is the special case which refused entry to Jewish refugees both before and after WWW2.

Ireland is the special case whose government "forgave" its military deserters who left its civilian population to its fate while chasing better wages in the British army during WW2.

Ireland is the special case whose government values Black and Tan mercenaries equally with those who sacrificed their lives in an attempt to institute democracy on all parts of this island.

Ireland is a special case whose Government believes it can "run with the fox and hunt the hounds."

One suspects there is a rude awakening ahead... for all of us.

They really, really don't like the Defence Forces sharpening up their skills, but are cute enough to hide it in among a pious concern for Nazi victims.

That maybe the case, Tommy. I would have some sympathy with what you say. But perhaps you could actually comment on the OP?

Whatever about their party, Ruairí Ó Brádaigh is one hell of a man. Still going strong at 80!
