Default Are FF's old crony's in the media leading the FF revival ??

Yesterday on the Marian Finnucan show their was a panel of guests of an FGer (understandable as their the Govt), some journos and a FFer. On Newstalk at the same time more of less the same with an FFer of course. On the Week in Politics on RTE a report on James Connolly hospital showed only a FG TD (understandable as their the Govt), and a FF councillor , on the discussion following we had an FGer (understandable as their the Govt), Joe Higgins and FF Senator Dara O'Brien. Even the VB show seems to have a disproportionate amount of FFers on it, one week I counted them appearing 3 out of 4 nights on it to badger as ' opposition ' to FG/Labour etc ( Not blaming VB, more the producers, directors etc)

What ever about the privately owned Newstalk and the O'Brien/O'Reilly toilet papers, RTE are supposed to be a public service broadcaster and neutral, however SFers have seen innumerable times down the years just how ' neutral ' RTE is e.g. O'Callaghan and Martin McGuinness during the Pres election. It might surprise you but I'd rather see the Independents, ULA or even FG/Labour to be getting a % increase rather than that total scum FF ............

Is the brown paper bags party's old friends in RTE, Newstalk and of course O'Brien/O'Reilly's toilet papers once more pushing the revival of the soldiers of corruption, cronyism and incompetence ?

Follow the money in this country and it ALWAYS goes back to state support, be it tax breaks, state contracts and the manipulation of markets for the gombeen class.

Hammer and Marvar give you an idea for a thread, we get to almost hear the clunking and grinding as you work out the detail, and here we are!

He hates corruption more than shooting.

One he advocates, the other he condemns. How about that for a moral compass!

I alway thought FFers were proud of claiming shooters ? Wasn't Dev supposed to have single handedly held Boland's mills according to FFers ? Now, let's not mention Dan Breen, Sean Lemass etc

    Nope.

    1. It's not true.
    2. Even if it was true, it's not really important to the problem facing the parties in question.

Labour and SF's poll numbers aren't going to FF because of the media. In policy/setup terms itt's going to them because of the perception that Lab have abandoned their core and because SF refuse to break with the past.

On a wider point though, Lab/SF were never going to keep the numbers they got in the last general election. People were very quick to dance on FF's corpse after shooting it in the heart. As anyone who watches The Walking Dead knows, that's usually a short sighted stratagem that results in zombie attacks.

FF's cycle has been well run at this point. Get into power for an extended period of time. Collapse after corrupt incompetence. FG get in to fix the problem. FF get back in when they exploit Labour's spinelessness and voter unhappiness with the manner in which the problem was fixed.

But this is different. This is our banking system collapsing! Our insurance system having to be bailed out! It's different! Except it's not, as the people who remember PMPA and AIB in the 80s can tell you.

People don't learn is the overwhelming message from examining Irish electoral history. They always return to the devil they know.
