Default #VINB Thur 25/10/2012: The end of the line for the Troika?

    * No info from tv3 - updating on broadcast *

Peter Mathews, FG TD Dublin South http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peter_Mathews_(politician)

The country has successfully concluded the eighth review mission of the Troika programme.

The Government held discussions with the Troika about what assistance would be available to Ireland as it exits the EU-IMF loan programme. Minister for Finance, Michael Noonan, and Public Expenditure & Reform Minister, Brendan Howlin, said the country has successfully concluded the eighth review mission of the programme and that Ireland has met all of its programme commitments and its continued strong implementation has been recognised by the Troika.

So what exactly does that mean? Are we out of the weoods yet? Have we turned the corner?

Tonight, #VINB looks at the progress made so far and what is likely for us in the future. A good show is on the cards ad, no doubt, Vinny will have an excellent panel to debate this issue.

What assistance will be available to Ireland when this round of handouts ends?

    No shame!

Brendan Howlin used the word family today when talking about europe. When there is a referendum on europe, our neighbours are referred to as friends.

Why when it's our bailout are they described as 'strangers' as in we're relying on the kindness of 'strangers'?

Vincent just used it and Brendan Howlin, Pat Rabbitte, Enda and Noonan and co always say kindness of strangers when talking about our bailout.
