Default Contradictions of Ireland's 'Socialists' laid bare: Indo

Joe Higgins is laying off 2 Socialist Party staff in December despite the fact that he does not actually have to do so. This is the same Joe Higgins who would be wailing like a banshee if any private sector employer laid off staff never mind a public sector employer, and drones on about 'ordinary workers' to a mind numbing extent.

And Clare Daly has gone looking for her tax-free and unvouched Independents Allowance from the Socialist Party money that she can just trouser and maybe make a good down payment on a Wexford holiday home on.........

    Sweet Jesus!!

Joe Higgins was probably Ireland's most hard working and effective MEP. Sad to see the difficulty he's in. Not worth trying to make political capital out of this either

There's not just 2 irish socialists.
The world is a very puzzling place. If you're not willing to be puzzled, you just become a replica of someone else's mind.

Also, you should actually read the article.

It really must be a slow news day on p.ie for this kind of nonsense

And just for clarification purposes - Joe Higgins isn't making anybody 'redundant' - the decision to make thes people redundant is directly the result of Clare Daly's resignation from the Socialist Party. It was made by the Socialist Party National Executive (not Joe Higgins) and the hacks would have been creaming from the rooftops if the Socialist Party had retained the full funding for 2 TDs (which it was entitled to do) and maintained the employment of these two 'socialists'.
