Default 37 pieces if art "missing" from the Dail.

Didn't see a thread on this, if one is already about please merge.

So it would appear that 37 pieces of art "have been misplaced following the largest changeover of offices because of the general election last year"

Over three dozen pieces of art 'missing' from Leinster House - National News - Independent.ie

So the OPW can't locate these items and it would appear that they went missing when the administration was changed last year.. when Ministers and TD's that were retiring or were not re-elected.
So not only can we not trust our Govt to run the country, but it would appear that even state assets are up for grabs as well too!!!!

" In total, a record 76 new Dail deputies were elected in February 2011 and took up their offices once the 31st Dail convened on March 9, 2011, all requiring accommodation.

Combined with that, a total of 45 TDs lost their seats and a further 36 retired and did not stand for election, who needed to vacate their offices within the Leinster House.

"Given the size of the collection under the auspices of the OPW, it is impossible to know where everything is all of the time," an OPW spokesman said.

The OPW said that while a number of pieces are unaccounted for since the general election, others have been missing since before that."

Looks like the TDs have again found a new way to rob from the people.

Do more than stop paying the pension.. If an ex TD or Minister was found to be in possession ofr an item of "missing" art they should be sent away for a long long time...

In other word, all politicians are guilty. They already have schemes to avoid taxes, robbing Art is child play for these people.

    Impossible? Really?

Often, when staff move offices, they take artwork they like with them and this poses great difficulty to the OPW and management staff in Leinster House to keep a track on them, the spokesman said.
The question is do they do the same thing when they move home. Why not when the OPW have no way of knowing what's going on. After all it's only taxpayers money.

I'd pay good money for this one.
