Default Bord Gais, IBRC, Denis O'Brien, Siteserv and FG; a tangled web!!

The government, which owns Anglo Irish Bank/IBRC, wrote off a debt of €110 Million, to allow Denis O' Brien to acquire Siteserv.

Siteserv is the major contractor to Bord Gais and installs gas meters and services gas boilers for Bord Gais.

Two weeks after Denis O' Brien bought Siteserv for €45 Million, the government announced that Bord Gais would be in charge of implementing domestic water meters.

One of Siteservs "key competencies" is the installation of water meters. Civil Engineering

The cost of the water meters would be spread over a 20 year period by means of a "standing charge" of €40 per household.

Strategic investment is what it is.
Denis O'Brien has to be admired for his foresight in business. He has been very successful in the Caribbean and Oceanic areas. Most people would have shunned these poor, under-developed and far-flung countries; but, he invested and won.

admire Denis O'Brien?????? are you joking or just trying to wind us up?

i am afraid to say what i really think of that businessman, proud irishman, benefactor of the irish soccer team for fear he will sue me or the owner of this site.

admiration for how he does business says a lot about what are acceptable business practices in Ireland

    Stop picking on the Malteser.

Look at the contribution he makes to the taxes collected in this country. All those hospitals and schools that would close without him.

A great patriotic Irish man with a soft spot for the Green jersey, and superficial gestures.....

    Oh....hold on a minute.....

Why not have those nice "tax efficient" millionaires who move off the green isle for tax purposes surrender their passports? Sure if they're paying tax in other countries surely they are citizens in that country?
