The Senate is looking fairly promising!
"Always do right. This will gratify some people and astonish the rest." Mark Twain

“When a government is dependent upon bankers for money, they and not the leaders of the government control the situation, since the hand that gives is above the hand that takes. Money has no motherland; financiers are without patriotism and without decency; their sole object is gain.” Napoléon Bonaparte

To be fair to NOB (who I am no major fan of by any stretch of the imagination and didn't vote for) I think that's uncalled for.

    Dear Galwaywoman,

You have 43 posts on this website starting on April 10th this year. Every single one is setting out to undermine my credibility.

The only reason you would do this is because you and those you represent live in fear of the very real progress I have made in Galway.

I would like to meet you face to face to discuss your problems. If you have the guts to meet me rather than hiding behind a pseudonym please email me at niallob@esatclear.ie and I'll arrange to meet you.

    Regards,

    Niall O Brolchain
    Mayor of Galway City

Niall, I wouldn't worry about it. At least you had the guts to put your money where your mouth was. If this person has a problem, let them do the same and see how far they get. I wouldn't be holding my breath though.

    !
    Good man, Niall!
FWIW, I think that going from a first-time Council candidate in 2004 to one of the highest-profile Greens in the country in 2007 is no mean feat. May even have been a pre-emptive "safe seat syndrome" which affected some voters.
To answer the question: I think Niall's job will continue to be pushing the Green message on Galway CC until 2012, when the good citizens of Galway West realise what they've been missing. Not that I'm tryng to make up his mind for him or anything...
