Default The 2nd Cornish National Minority Report

Below those interested will find the 2nd Cornish National Minority report submitted to the UK government and the Council of Europe's secretariat for the Framework Convention for the Protection of National Minorities. It makes a great synthesis of the arguments for the existence of a Cornish national identity

A URL to the pdf is here: http://www.oldcornwall.org/Cornish%2...doc.%20PDF.pdf

All those who support our cause should feel free to circulate to all interested parties.

Fascinating stuff. I lived in London for years and I would see cars with bumper stickers and the black and white cross flag with Kernow on it. So there is definitely a strong national identity. However as shown by the many "Gaeilge" threads here- reviving a language is not easy. We live in an English language world. One way of keeping your Cornish identity alive, which worked here, is a Cornish language radio or TV station. Oll an gwella

Thanks for the response. Equally you might like to take a look at this articles that describes our political and constitutional history. What makes Cornwall unique: What makes Cornwall unique |Cornwall Info

We really need all the help and publicity we can get to counter the anglo-brit establishment.

APTN has shown how minority languages can survive and thrive in todays world. As redneck points out TV/Radio have a vital role to play.Reviving a language is not easy. But neither is it impossible.Perhaps the Welsh could help out with a slot?

Good Stuff. Incidentally, the name for Cornwall in Irish is "Corn na Breataine" or "An Corn".
