Default What do Agatha Christie and the European Council have in common?

When you see it written down, you wonder why it never struck you before -

“A summit of the European Council is always like a detective novel,” said Viktor Orban, the Hungarian prime minister, of the debate surrounding the bail-out system. “You will get the final outcome at the last moment.”

    Next chapter coming shortly:

Mr Roche said that president of the council, Herman Van Rompuy, would report to the council meeting next Thursday and ask for agreement on the outline of the mechanism and on the treaty amendment text.

Mr Roche noted the favoured proposal was for a simplified revision procedure to the treaty, agreed under the Lisbon Treaty. He said the approach would rule out the possibility of an amendment which would increase the competence conferred on the union.

Why are you spamming politics.ie with multiple threads on the treaty amendment porposal? This issue could just as easilly have been mentioned on the existing thread you put up on this issue. How long will it be before you spam another thread on the proposed treaty amendment?

Your question reminded me of a recent discussion about the Euro on Newsnight. You're not the only person to be reminded of Agatha Christie imagery...
