Thread: Ireland maintains its position in Least Corrupt Countries

  1. #1

Default Ireland maintains its position in Least Corrupt Countries

Transparency International - the global coalition against corruption

Ireland number 14 in least corrupt countries worldwide in views of Transparency International.

Interesting is that we shared 14th place with Germany last year who dropped to 17th, UK dropped from 17th to 20th and United States dropped from 19th to 22nd.

In 2008 Ireland stood at 16th place, in 2007 it was 17th.

The big caveat in the report is that the authors did not take into account that corruption here is legal......

What a joke. Have they heard Ahern's evidence at Mahon

As Transparency International say themselves the Corruption Perceptions Index is meant to measure mere perception and "not reality".

    So that explains that.
