    Default More "Chandalier Socialists" than Socialist Party: Cllrs in waste of public money

    Three Fingal CC Socialist Party Cllrs were among those that partook in a Fingal CC photo call at Newbridge House that cost the taxpayer €10k. I do not know if they suggested that the public should do the photographic equivalent of eating cake but the 'Chandalier Socialists Party' should be reminded of it when it comes to the General Election.

    Default Fingal Councillors spend 9500 on photos of themselves for local buildings

    Fresh on the heels of their efforts to right the problems in Fingal by forcing everyone to use Irish in future place names, it's been revealed that Fingal council have spent 9500 on photos to be used in local libraries:

    YOU'VE heard of champagne socialists -- now meet the chandelier socialists.

    Socialist Party councillors have defended posing for photos in a lavish drawing room of one of the country's finest stately homes -- but said they had no idea it cost the taxpayer almost 10,000.

    Three socialist party councillors were part of a Fingal County Council photoshoot in Newbridge House in Dublin last year.

    I'd personally like to compliment Clare Daly and Matthew Waine for giving it to "the man" and not bothering to dress like professionals, instead going for the socialist uniform of jeans and runners.

    If you're going to cost the taxpayer 400 quid each in photos, you might at least dress appropriately you bums.

    And kudos to Ms Daly for arguing the trip was justified. Never too young to work on that sense of entitlement dear. Also, just a fantastic grasp of financial terminology by agreeing that it was "a whack-load of money" A "whack-load" is of course the technical name for "excessive amount". I had to look it up.
    I'm living in America, and in America, you're on your own. America's not a country. It's just a business. Now f***ing pay me.

    Appropriate that that the Socialist party should be in Newbridge for a Photoshoot as was used as a backdrop for "The Spy who came in from the Cold" where people fleeing from the Socialist paradise of East Germany.

    That is a bit harsh - at least it is a step above the PJ's of their voters.

    Don't you think that these days, the average Irish person would be more trusting of someone dressed like those Socialist councillors ahead of someone in a business suit?

    That said, it's a mad waste of money. Fingal CC has very expensive modern offices in Swords they could have used for a photo shoot. No councillor should be defending this expenditure, least of all those on the left.

    i wonder are Claire's jeans branded or unbranded and in what conditions they were produced. I assume she paid the extra to buy a fairtrade pair?

    Peanuts, they have spunked away far more then that, how much does housing for 1,400 non-citizens cost the taxpayer?

    Fingal County Council Minutes
    CMB/49/07 SOCIAL HOUSING LIST

    Question: Councillor L. Varadkar

    To ask the Manager, how many people are on the housing list for Blanchardstown and the number of which who are;

    (a) Irish citizens;

    (b) Other EU citizens;

    (c) non-EU citizens?

    Reply:

    2117 Social Housing applicants have expressed Blanchardstown as their first area of preference. The breakdown is as follows:

    (a) Irish citizens; 733

    (b) Other EU citizens 176

    (c) non-EU citizens 1208

    Default Socialist Party's Next Top Model

    The people's palace. What a joke.

    Its a bit unfair but then no other party sets them up as self-annointed working class heros on a pedestal like the SP who are a fine example of why the furhter left is failing in Ireland.

    If the socialist party was not so jaded in how it wants to achieve its vision then this would not be a problem, wasteful but we'd be talking about all parties not just Joe's vanguard.

    But the SP live in a political dream world and when they meet reality its always going to go wrong.

    Yet they never ever learn and are no further in achieving their goals today than 30 odd years ago.

    What a party.
