Default Gogarty says "The People need to be frightened"

Was listening to the late debate on RTE last night. Firstly, government representative Paul Gogarty would not say if the austerity measures would be nearer to 7BN or 15BN...
...so when he went onto say that the numbers "are just a lot worse than anyone ever imagined"...he was accused by another panelist of frightening the people to which Gogarty then replied to the shock of all the panel and broadcaster : "The People need to be frightened! "

    Now you have it!

Why are they a lot worse than anyone imagined Paul?

Would it be because the government has been lying about the state of the finances?

    Might that be the case?

Gogarty reminds me of Joyce's little aside when he orders a Topic in a pitch and putt skit on youtube:

    'All fecund in its nuttiness...'

He's dead right. The people elected the likes of him to run the country..

I think at this stage we should be just laughing at this troglodyte but does he have any realistic prospect of being re elected?

I can't see how he has any hope of getting his deposit back
