Default Irish Debt to hit €90,000,000,000 around 3pm today

Presently sitting at around € 89.982.908.049 on the Fine Gael website - http://www.finegael.ie/

This will represent a personal debt for every Irish citizen of €20,200

How could we mark this shameful achievement by Fianna Fail / Greens Government?

Why should we pay for other people's incompetent business decisions?

I suppose the Fianna Fαil workmen have to show that they are worth their hire(political donations)!

    These debt clocks are shocking.

The UK's is here - UK National Debt Clock - No-nonsense Guide to Britain's Debt Crisis

    Currently about £960,000,000,000.

Who's at the other end collecting all this interest??????????????

It's hard to imagine these things ever being paid to be honest.

    Has democracy failed?

At the moment I'm trying to understand fractional reserve banking and how it works.

All or most of the money in the system actually appears to be a debt.

    Do I have this correct?

    Short answer, it doesn't really.

From my limited knowledge it appears to be something of an incredible scam.

I can barely believe that I have it right. If I have understood it correctly then I fail to see why people aren't up in arms about it.

All this talk of national debt, well really it appears that money is just what has been embezzled from the people, and although we owe it, it never really existed in the first place. I can't have that right surely to God.
