Default Public Service Reform Starts Here!!

I hear that in the absence of more concrete proposals from Senior PS m
Management right now. They are starting with the "easy" targets

The working week to be lengthened to a minimum of 35 hours

"Bank "time etc. to be abolished

Annual leave to be cut by 10%

I stress THIS IS A RUMOUR -anyone else hear any of this?

I suppose my point is that it isn't the real and radical change that is required it's just taking a few perks back without really thinking about the substantial underlying problems.

Are the Easter and Christmas "priv days" gone yet?

Or the 'unofficial' afternoon tea breaks that often run from 15.50 to 16.40?

Or the practice of clocking in at 08.00 then going out to buy one's breakfast before senior management start to arrive at 9.30-ish?

In a word no but that goes on in the private sector too and is down to mangement rather than sectoral approaches.
