    Default Chicago on the Liffey...

Foreclosure threatens proposed tallest U.S. tower in | cleveland.com

Seemingly the Irish taxpayer are going to own another largely vacant lot, this time at the mouth of the Chicago river overlooking Lake Shore Drive and Lake Michigan.

The site was meant to host the tallest building in North America.
    Yay hubris!

Here's a promotional video from Shelbourne Developments of the site:

I remember getting a tour of the site in 2008 and feeling woozy about it! It wasn't like Chicago didn't have plenty of office/retail/residential space at that time.

It looks like a drill bit. Its hideous. It would have ruined the skyline and have contrasted completely against the other buildings.

The Yanks saved themselves a White Elephant. I thought Mercantilism and vein conspicuous building was dead.

It was until Paddy (2007 version) came along. Just like Balki in Pefect Strangers, "America or Bust".
