Default Unity, cries the delinquent government - IT graphic

Having crashed the economy they want us to help them out.

There is a stunning graph on page 13 of the Irish Times today. The paper has been running a Graphic of the Week page for a while now, but today's is really Graphic of the Crash. Whoever laid it out is not credited but deserves to be.

It shows the current deficit relative to the size of the economy 1980 - 2000.

It is chilling, even if we allow that the 2010 bar on the graph is extended by the (allegedly) exceptional payments into the banks for the benefit of their anonymous creditors.

If someone can scan it or pop it up here in some shape or form it would help put the belated bleatings from government for Unity in a context.

Do Fianna FAIL not have all the best brains in Government and the public service available to them?

These people are highly paid not to mention all the consultants and expensive advice they buy from KPMG, Arthur Cox, PwC.......etc

Surely these brains can come up with a solution?

the solution that the elite may come up with may be politically unpalatable to us all
