Thanks Iarmhi Gael for that information - your message contains all the information I need to know. I was just trying to work out the numbers today in the light of the Jim McDaid resignation.

There's no need to resurrect a 4-week old thread. The numbers are being discussed in the main McDaid thread. It's almost formed the body of much of the coverage on IrishTimes.com and RTE.

David, I read all the stuff on the McDaid thread and on the RTE website but it was difficult to get the overall picture in my head. Eventually I found Iarmhi Gael's post and the information was crystallised in the format that was immediately understandable. This reduced my frustration at having to troll through loads and loads of opinion and commentary. And hence I passed on my appreciation to him. So you get on with doing your important stuff and I'll continue to educate myself.

The information is so well presented that I have taken the liberty of updating it myself:

    Government:

    GR 6
    Ind 3 - Harney, Lowry & JHRae
