Default Fine Gael ends Dáil pairing agreement

Things seem to be accelerating at last!

As a result of the Fine Gael decision, Minister for Education and Skills Mary Coughlan has had to cancel a planned visit to the US this week for a mission involving Enterprise Ireland.
Should be an interesting week in politics. Good that our Minister for Evolution and Almae Mater won't be making a show of herself. Now all we need is for Gilmore to trump that move....

That would be a good idea! There's surely enough mud around that some will stick.

Keeping sweary Mary under wraps will probably help the recovery.

I hope somebody in her department remembers to cancel her flights and hotels.

Good decisive move by Kenny. Politics is a numbers game, if John Curran has to force ministers to cancel trips, or even force ill TDs to postpone medical appointments to vote down by-elections or ensure victory in minor acts, that is a matter for his conscience. Fine Gael TDs will be turning up for work and doing their job. Now will Labour, SF and the Indo's have the balls to do the same?
