Default Arch Bishop urged to resign for admitting to using Welsh

It seems that the ex leader of the Tories in Wales, Rod Richards thinks that the Archbishop of Wales, Barry Morgan should resign after joking with the Pope that he & the Archbishop of Cantubury converse in Welsh when they don't want others to understand what they're saying. WalesOnline - News - Wales News - Anger as Archbishops chat in Welsh

Richards, who himself speaks Welsh fluently has had well documented problems with alcohol. I wonder if he's fallen off the waggon yet again.

Richards is going a little over the top.

Well, the lad has a history of liking the drink. He was sometimes as p*ssed as a Cowan when speaking on the floor of the National assembly.

This is a jokey reference to the old English whinge about walking into a pub in Wales and everyone switching to speaking Welsh. I think.

Of course it is - but poor old Rod was too muddled to see it.

Archbishop Barry Morgan is the Archbishop of the Church in Wales (their local equivalent of the Church of Ireland).

He is even less likely than the RCC Archishop of Armagh to resign just because of what people say.

The chances of Barry resigning because of the ravings of a drunken, attention seeking, right wing crank are indeed fairly remote.
