Default Regulator Watchdog reports that Banks are fleecing us still with Interest Rates!

Banks fleece consumers with interest rates, claims watchdog - The Irish Times - Thu, Sep 23, 2010

Is anybody really surprised by this??? Doesnt this show that the likes of V Browne and co are completely correct in saying that as so many of the senior staff still remain at the banks, that very little will change until they are removed at least!!

I'd like to hear what Lenny and Cowen have to say on this regarding that big white elephant called ACTION!

Do you really think it would matter if all the senior staff were replaced?
Banks are there to make money....in order to do that now, they need to charge higher interest rates to us poor plebs.

If you really think a change of senior staff would make much of a difference, then you're a tad bit delusional.

Well of course interest rates charged to customers have gone up. Their own funding costs have gone up. What else was going to happen?
Nothing will motivate the lazy / apathetic / Americanised / west-British types to embrace their culture and the Irish language.

I did say "removal of those senior staff at least" meaning more would also need to be done by way of proper enforcement of standards and regulations

Sensationalist and populist-where was this watchdog when they should have been doing their job between 2002-2008?
What does this 'watchdog' propose as an alternative?
That the banks operate at an even greater loss and the general taxpayer picks up an even bigger tab?
Customers who took out a variable interest loans presumably understood the meaning of the word variable?

Breaking news: The Pope is Catholic!
The real news here is that we are still paying public servants to make such observations.

    Perhaps.

However what are the so called "public interest " Directors doing..........suffering Stockholm Syndrome if you ask me.

Surely this type of reporting is unpatriotic perhaps people contemplating taking a mortgage will nt dio so for fear of being ripped off

I think thewatchdog is proposing some form of equity in this.To be fair so is Joan Burton.Joe Higgins and Richard Boyd Barret.

I tell ya the swing to the left is going to be huge--when they start cutting off utilities you know the country is shagged.
