Default MRBI Poll: 73% support gay marriage, 55% support adoption

Two-thirds support gay marriage, poll finds - The Irish Times - Wed, Sep 15, 2010
JUST OVER two-thirds of people (67 per cent) believe gay couples should be allowed to marry, according to an Irish Times /Behaviour Attitudes social poll.
    ...
People are divided, however, on whether gay couples should be allowed to adopt children. Some 46 per cent support such a move, while more than a third (38 per cent) are opposed. Younger people, urban dwellers and women are more likely to be supportive of the idea.
<note I excluded the don't knows for the headline stats>

    Time for change ?

    Nope. Homosexuality impoverishes society.

It's classic thin edge of the wedge stuff with the homosexual lobby. They worm their way in inch by inch through the back door in the hope that nobody will notice. Of course if you ask people should homosexual persons be allowed to synthesise a marriage between man and woman and adopt children, you'd get a very different response. Trying to re-engineer society and utilising innocent children as ingredients for the grand experiment is morally and gravely wrong.

No they want equal civil rights to everybody else and are not willing to accept anything else, as for worming in the back door in the hope that nobody will notice that's rubbish the fight for gay rights are a well developed subset of civil rights and you just pissed off that your on the losing side and when people look back at this you be ranked with the likes of the K.K.K and other hate groups!!!

Only if you use such biased and inflammatory language, which no reputable polling company would!!!

Nobody trying to re-engineer society, society has moved on and has left you behind!!!

As for the children being pawns, gay people have children too and peer reviewed studies done by reputable scientific groups have shown that children raised by same sex couples are just as well adjusted and normal as kids from heterosexual families in fact a recent study has shown that children raised by lesbian parents do better than children raised by heterosexual parents and the parents sexuality has no affect on the children!!!

Adoption and Morality - doubtless we should follow the teachings and practises of the RCC in Ireland over the years - not.

Well that's an increase of 5% if you compare it with the other poll/thread . All in all I am glad to see that even with Civil Partnerships in place, the public at large are for gay and lesbian couples marrying.

46% for adoption and 38% against just means that there is still a long process of debate to be had.

Christ on a hoors cross with dysentry!
Are arguments like the above plucked from some sort of Almanac? Or is there an echo in here?

    Ignore the homophobes.

This is why democracy is crap. There is a rational reason for allowing gay adoption, but there is no rational reason for allowing gay marriage.

Is there a rational reason for providing assertions without arguments?
