Default Denis Donaldson Inquest Postphoned For Fifth Time

Senior Sinn Féin figure and MI5 agent Denis Donaldson was murdered at a remote cottage near Glenties, Co Donegal in April 2006. The Real IRA subsquently said they killed Donaldson who was blasted to death with a shotgun. To date no-one has been arrested in relation to the crime.

Donaldson's family are seeking an inquest into his death. For the fifth time their application has been adjourned with Gardaí claiming that progress is being made in the murder investigation, a claim the family's solicitor rejects.

UTV News - Sinn Féin 'spy' inquest delayed again

Justce delayed is justice denied. Four years after Donaldson's death his family deserve an inquest. Continual delays leave the impression that there's something to hide.

I dont think its an "impression",there is no doubt there are those on both sides of the equation who wanted Donaldsons knowledge hidden.State security takes precedent over the life of one individual, always has done despite the citizens rights.

Anyone believe the Gardaí are still actually investgating this one?

There were signs of a breakthrough last year when an RIRA defector gave info but nothing since then

    Look, get this straight.

The RIRA are an MI5 creation. The are an infiltrated organisation from the get go. MI5 organise a few kills under the name of RIRA to gain street cred.

Only one group would have most motive to kill Denis Donaldson and that is MI5 / British Intelligence. Imagine all the interviews to the media where Donaldson would have been asked about all the people he met while being a top man in Sinn Fein and supping with the devils of the Crown forces at the same time. Think of all the people he could name. Once his cover was blown both Sinn Fein and MI5 would want him dead.

The Gardai down here are but little lap dogs told what to investigate and what not to investigate. Would people ever get real.

Donaldson is dead and there will never be any serious effort from both sides of the border to find out who killed him. Because both sides already know who killed him.
Cowardice asks the question - is it safe? Expediency asks the question - is it politic?
Vanity asks the question - is it popular? But Conscience asks the question - is it right?
And there comes a time when one must take a position that is neither safe, nor politic, nor popular;but one must take it simply because it is right. -MLK

Something odd, odd, odd about Donaldson's death. He must have known he'd have a "visitor".

Especially after the Sunday World published his whereabouts. Interestingly it was a former RUC Special Branch officer who led the SW there.

The family of murdered IRA spy Denis Donaldson have launched legal proceedings against the State over ongoing delays in holding an inquest. The development emerged after another adjournment in the long-stalled coroner's probe into the shooting of the MI5 agent by dissident republicans 10 years ago. Relatives of Mr Donaldson walked out of Donegal Coroners' Court in protest at the latest hold-up.....

Surely he had to be taken into protective custody for his own safety .

The Brits or the Irish authorities don't exactly 'Look after" their touts . You feel sorry for those that sell out their own people for these sorts of "Authorities".
