    Heard Brendan Shine being interviewed this week on this story....quite extraordinary....Fr James Coyne..an uncle of Shine murdered by the KKK.....

    Apologies on the wrong surname.....very interesting programme all the same....

    Interesting quote from that article

    Birmingham was led to believe that Catholics were plotting to control all government in the name of the pope. Their parochial schools would destroy the public education system.
    Seems like Birmingham was right and everybody else (except the Unionists) was wrong.

    Indeed and it makes you realise why the Ku Klux Klan had to murder the priest and why marriage between whites and Puerto Ricans is evil. What a pity that the murder actually caused the Klan to lose some of its influence (because even some of the bigots were shocked.)
