Default Did media let us down badly

Did media fall down on its job in last decade , boasting of Celtic Tiger, Bertie lifestyle (Sindo) and contaminated by property supplements revenue. Shame on them, they have serious case to answer
You'd think Kenny committed Treason and brought in IMF. Cowen had all in stitches in Galway at 3.30a.m.but he was "not impaired" -DD Power. FF=Publican páirtí an IMF.

Media in this country with very few exceptions let us down badly on the reporting of warning signals in ther economy. How much was this dictated by revenue from property supplements and hand outs from the governing parties. We still have it a bit about musical chairs in cabinet and who will replace wee Willie. As if it matters, during war there were only about eight in cabinet. In recent years this has grown to 15, maximum constitution allows. Bertie even appointed 20 ministers of state (this is now back to 15); so every FF TD bar 2 had a job as minister, jnr. minister, or chairman of a committee, one for everyone in the audience. And for a country the sixe of Manchester. We are worse to fall for it

They did. Whole sections of the media acted as a cheerleader for FF and the PD's disastrous economic policies

Bertie tried to look after everyone. All the elected members as Ministers or Ministers of State. If they didn`t get one of these positions they got Committee positions. His cronies like Joe Burke ( ho ho ho ) and Cecilia ( ho ho ho ) appointed to quangos not because of any particular skill but because they were friends.

What did the electorate do. Appoint him for another 5 years.

We all deserve this depression for being a nation of gombeens and for accepting all the cutbacks without a fight. We are muppets to FF.

When there is 600,000 unemployed and a National Debt of €200 billion will we react then. PROBABLY NOT.

See the media jump on bandwagon on issues from the economy to bishop cover ups, but where were they when things were happening, where were the investigative journalism? Most of them are still at the local news level.

What do you expect from there media here? The media here only lackeys for Zanu-FF.
The media are the mouthpieces and the propaganda machine of Zanu-FF and the few
members of the media who did warn about the the recession were told "go and top
themselves" by the high priest of Zanu-FF Bertie Ahern.

If they were as diligent about Zanu FF as they are about the goings on in Church of Rome, maybe we could have been "saved". Do ye remember the reporting of Cowen singing off lorry in Offaly and how the meeja fell for it.
