Default Child abuse coverup scandal striking closer to Pope's home

Pope's brother denies knowledge of sexual abuse in choir he led - The Irish Times - Sat, Mar 06, 2010
Pope's brother Georg Ratzinger linked to child abuse claims - World news, News - Belfasttelegraph.co.uk
Pope's brother linked to new claims of child abuse by clergy - Europe, World - The Independent
Pope's Brother's Choir Faces Abuse Claims - News

    etc., etc., etc. ...

The predecessor of the pope's brother as director of a choir was removed because of sexual abuse of chorists. Guess what? The scandal was covered up.

Pope's brother claims not to have known a thing about the scandal. Chorists who sang during his time as director claim that the abuse scandal was general knowledge among the boys.

There is, it should be said, no suggestion that Georg Ratzinger was involved in any abuse. Quite the opposite. Chorists seem to be at pains to emphasise that he was a good and very professional choir master.

Would I be right to assume that RTÉ haven't picked up on this one either?

My gaydar always goes off when I see Pope Ratzinger, with his lovely moisturized skin and Prada slippers, which might explain why in his previous position he seemed to spend an unhealthy amount of time focused on the evils of homosexuality. Of course, unlike his holiness, my gaydar although pretty damn good, isn't infallible.

He certainly wouldn't be the first gay pope in recent(ish) years. Paul VI hardly bothered to hide his string of handsome young priests.

And please spare me the moral outrage and demand for signed statements of proof from the popes themselves.

What has the pope's (alleged) homosexuality got to do with the matter raised in the OP? It is hardly pertinent to the matter at hand.

Read that in the paper at the weekend and, funnily enough, had a €5 bet with a mate about whether or not RTE would cover it. Haven't seen or heard them mention it myself, but then their coverage of non-Anglophone European matters (barring disasters and EU stuff) is hardly...er... adequate. Anyone else spot an RTE mention? I want my fiver!

I want my grounds for complaint to compliance. It would be simply unbelievable if RTÉ didn't cover this.
