    Default Minister of Spoof

Cowen says there are 'clear signs' Irish economy is stabilising - The Irish Times - Sat, Jan 23, 2010

He claimed Ireland was “one of the first countries” to devise a “blueprint” to restructure the economy “to target the next wave of economic growth”.

The Government’s vision of Ireland as an “innovation island” was central to plans for economic recovery, and he was “determined to provide also the best incubation environment for Irish entrepreneurial talent, creating a world-class research, innovation and commercialisation system – and unlocking the known strengths of our indigenous business sector”.

We freed up development land by taxing it at 20% so that we can build 300,000 homes that are vacant. What a genius. What a financial wizard. What a leader. Is this the best that FF have ? Roll on 2012.

I think anyone would struggle to surpass that for cliche and dishonesty. He should tuck into a big mac and go away.

You can put lipstick on a pig but it's still a pig! This government is utterly dillusional and are still living in a bubble. There was a letter in today's Irish Independent 'Our youth will be Ireland's main export' and it really sums up the government's approach to young people in this country. These young people are the future of this country and one would imagine they would be the essential ingredients in any future "innovation island". However, they are leaving this 'innovation island' in their droves and the government is turning a blind eye to it all.

If only the Fianna Fáil led Government are on that ship when it settles, then, we may have a chance of saving whats left of our country and start hoping for a brighter future. Why did people vote them back into power? I just don't get it.

And I know its wrong and I should not even think of it, but dear Lord that man is horrible looking. You know in fairy tales when the princess kisses the toad and it turns into a handsome prince? Fianna Fáil even got that one back to front. Can they do anything right, apart from looting the country dry?

And all the FF ministers backed Bertie`s story telling at the tribunal. They believed the digouts, the suitcase in the Ashling Hotel, the BT account, winning the money on the horses, the tenant landlord relationship etc.........................

And we voted them all back in.

We deserve to be where we are

Is that the 63% who have a divine right to be right or was it just a random 63%?

We freed up development land when one of the main drivers of house prices was shortage of supply of development land. They didn't have to be geniuses, it was just one of the sensible things to do at the time.

If it wasn't so serious it would be comical. All the latest statisitcs from the CSO are woeful. Unemploymrent is accelerating. Purchasing manager indexes are opinion polls from desperate people hoping for the best.

The government has no shame. The make these outrageous quotes blissfully ignorant of them ever being used against them in future as things deteriorate further. They couldn't care less. The lunatics are in control of the asylum. Once Greece goes, its a toss between us and Portugal. Keep a eye out for the Greek bond auction next week.
