Default Truck wrecks DART wires at Merrion Gates - Irish Rail irked

Some moron of a truck driver has driven through the Merrion Gates with a lifting arm up and has caused 'major' damage to the overhead wires. Trains on the southside are down until 6pm at least.

I can't remember seeing a press release quite like this one before (from irishrail.ie)

The genius truck driver in question had a lifting arm on the back of the truck which pulled down barriers, and extensive overhead wiring (as well as phone wiring in the area), and he subsequently fled the scene. Prosecution will follow.
    Prosecution? This retard deserves shooting

Has to be the case. Otherwise he's a candidate for the Darwin awards.

Doesn't one have to suffer a fatality from one's stupidness to qualify for those? Tho in fairness yer man must have gone close enough on that front with those overhead wires

(If guilty) he should be made cover the cost of repair, he should be jailed (14 days) for leaving the scene, and he should never be allowed behind the wheel of a vehicle again. IMO, that's about the level of penalty that should be imposed by any functioning society for such wilful negligence.

    Stirring prescription.

What is your sentence for the people who have done wreck to our economy?

Are you suggesting that they shouldn't have allowed their fury to show?

They got their collective anger and contempt across while staying within the law of libel.

Full marks to whoever cleared that press release - more plain speaking is what the country needs not weasel words and euphemisms.
My Avatar is the FF logo INVERTED symbolising contempt for the FF Party and its members.
