Thumbs up Gerry Adams tells Brother to hand himself in - Abuse charges

The Sinn Fein leader Gerry Adams is understood to have said that his brother should hand himself over to the authorities to answer allegations of sexual abuse.

It is understood that an arrest warrant was issued for Liam Adams a year ago.

The warrant was issued for failing to appear at a preliminary court hearing in Belfast to answer questions about alleged sexual offences

The offences include indecent assault, rape and gross indecency.

    Well done Gerry !!
    Time for change !!

Do you think Gerry and his mates will arrange the punishment beating?

Well, judging by a few threads on this website today, I hope Mr Liam Adams manages to hand himself over to the cops before the 'dissidents' of West Belfast or Kev408 get their hands on him.

Fair play to him, many other politicians would shove their heads in the sand and ignore the issue. I'm not a Gerry Adams fan-far from it. But for him to come out and say he belives the victim and supports her deserves recognition and praise

Adams as stated that he believes the victim too. Fair play, my respect for him has grown enormously after this.

Most unwise for someone of Gerry Adams's acumen and experience. I hope his comments do not prejudice his brother's right to a fair trial.

    Post shocking

Why did it take 20 years for the charges to be brought?

Yes, wasn't Mary Harney instrumental in keeping Mr Haughey out of jail by making injudicious comments at the time of the tribunal?

I agree with you but must admit to wondering if tonight's UTV insight programme at 8 pm about 'a strong republican family and allegations of sexual abuse' has any bearing on Gerry's statement.
