RTE will lift the lid on how much it pays its top stars today with Pat Kenny understood to have taken home over 1m.
The former 'Late Late Show' host earned over 800,000 in 2006, however this is believed to have risen to in excess of 1m a year later.
Such a payout is almost four times that of Taoiseach Brian Cowen, showing the pulling power of the station's best known presenter.
The figures for 2007, paid out at the height of the economic boom, will be a cause of embarrassment for the national broadcaster as it wrestles with a 68m budget shortfall.
However these massive pay packets have since been whittled down somewhat as the big name RTE stars have all agreed to accept pay cuts in the past year.
Topping the list in 2006, Kenny earned 850,000 for his morning radio show and the 'Late Late'. 2FM's Gerry Ryan took home just under 600,000 for his radio show while Marian Finucane earned 455,190.
