| Yes and what happens to people who have paid for their Annual Rail Ticket to include the 90/91 buses, will they now be entitled to a refund.

| I find it very grating when the Minister for transport gives out about the reduction in the number of public transport passengers and just blames 'the recession' while increasing the price, cutting the service and sanctioning ridiculous ill thought out parking charges at public transport depots. They're supposed to be encouraging public transport usage, not penalising it at every turn.

| From Heuston? They're a costly option for anyone travelling from beyond Hazelhatch. Passengers in Sallins, Newbridge, Kildare and beyond can't use their combined rail\bus tickets on any routes other than the 90/91/92 and Luas.

| InterCity tickets are only available with the 90/91/92 You pay a supplement for the LUAS (IIRC 1.50 on a return trip) Other buses aren't included

Didn't know about the combined tickets, Dublin Bus will have to honor them on the other routes then. |

| It's unfortunate, although the walk from D'Olier Street to Connolly rail station is not exactly a trek. Not to mention the already mentioned bus routes which pass Heuston and go into the City Centre. A small private bus company could step in there and cover the Heuston-Connolly route if it was viable. |

| The presence of other buses (and the Luas) doesn't really offer an alternative unless their capacity is increased, and the City Centre tickets sold by Irish Rail are expanded to include more routes.

out by clondalkin it looks like theyre halving the number of 78a's and doing away completely with the recently instituted (as in august last year) 210 which covers cherrywood and the like. its pretty much one of the FEW bus routes that doenst go into the city, acting as a link between liffey valley and the square in tallaght to a fairly BIG group of housing estates in west clondalkin that otherwise couldnt get there without going into town. i dont use it myself as the 76 is actually quicker from where i am so i wont miss it but still i thought they were meant to be encouraging these types of routes i.e ones that mean you dont have to go into town and back out again to go fairly close by areas down the road. i wouldnt be surprised if incidences like this are common place all over the city |
