Default Sinn Fein spent €119k on Lisbon Referendum

Sinn Fein have released spending and income information on the Lisbon Referendum away in excess of the SIPO requirements. They spent almost €119k including €67k on postering, €30k on leaftets and other publications and €20k on advertising. On the income side they received €20k from their EU grouping and the largest donation from a funding appeal they received was just €650. The remainder of the costs were met by party resources.

Agree 110%. Great to see Mary Lou getting credit for this and it has done her standing as a national political figure no end of good.

Mary Lou my arse. Most people voted no because they could not understand the treaty and not because of anything that Mary Lou said.

She was the leading elected politician to put forward the alternative arguments and as such I think her role was very very important and cannot be overestimated.

Sinn Fein can't form a government just because of the referendum but it should give Sinn Féin's profile a boost in the upcoming opinion polls. Sinn Féin is the only party in the 26 counties to increase its share of the vote in each and every like for like election since the 1980s and if this continues then we are well placed. Sinn Féin have always taken a very very long term time frame when setting strategy.

It is interesting to note that the yes people still have to get vulgar and tell us how stupid we are, they should watch clips of Mary Low in debate and see the high leval she brought to the discussion.
