Default What's Martin Ferris listening to in Dail?

I just switched on Dail Beo of TG4 as a question was being asked by an opposition TD I did‘t recognise (not a shinner). Sitting directly behind the questioner was Martin Ferris, wearing a headset.

What was he listening to? A simultaneous translation of the debate as gaeilge, Pat Kenny, The Wolfe Tones greatest hits, something else?

I know TDs & Ministers are allowed to tune out of debates, I’ve seen Michael McDowell doing his Irish Times crossword while taking questions. But are they allowed to tune into something else entirely?

May we expect to soon see Bertie, Enda, Ministers etc wearing similar headgear as their backroom teams feed them questions and answers during debates/Leaders Questions?

Considering SF don't have any speaking rights, it could be anything.

Enda likes a bit of AC/DC! that's true by the way.. he once belted out a whole lot of rosie at a karaoke party!

Bertie likes the Bee Gees... bet he's listening to a All By Myself a lot these days...

I know my street , that's where I live
I never take , I always give
They always leave me on the shelf
I live my life all by myself

My car ain't big , I can't go fast
And ev'ry drink I take's the last
I'm always tryin' to save my health
I live my life all by myself

Ev'rything I have I own and no one lives on me
I'm a man who stands alone
That's where I'll be
That's where I'll be

There's more than enough threads 'slagging' the Taoiseach already, you don't need to make this one aswell.

Did you consider it might be a hearing aid?

didn't Labour agree to "share" their time with the shinners as part of a senad voting pact ?

They did, but I haven't seen it happen during Leader's Question Time yet...

A hearing aid as a headset though? In an era of Hidden Hearing and so on, the idea of a hearing aid as a headset seems very old-fashioned.
