Default Donie Cassidy - “No one makes any money out of politics"

From Times Online an article by Stephen Dunne ... "TDs are still living high on the hog".

In the article Senator Donie Cassidy defends the current unvouched expenses system. He insists that politicians are “incredible value for money”. He said Irish politicians’ expenses are “completely in line” with their colleagues’ in Europe and are “just adequate”. Asked about the levelmof expenses paid to senators and TD's he said that "there has been a reduction in what we used to get 10 years ago.”

Asked why members of the Oireachtas should have meals bought for them, Cassidy argued that the private sector offers “these standards”. He added: “No-one makes any money out of politics and if anybody says they do, I would like to meet them".

“Give credit where credit is due. What has been done for Ireland in the past 12 years by public representatives from all political parties has been incredible, the envy of Europe as a matter of fact.”

So there you have it boys and girls. Our politicians dont make any money from politics and are the envy of Europe!!!

You couldn't make this sh1t up. You really couldn't.

I honestly dont know how things have come to this. I'm so frustarted and angered by this idiot and the rest of the incompetent gombeen lying currupt FF ba3tards that are in power that I dont know whether to laugh or cry.

I'd say it's more a case that all of his disposable income is spent on hairpieces. Some man.

This is the end result of a near-permanent government. Lies heaped upon lies. I doubt Cassidy believes any of that. I suspect most of the nation does not believe it either.

While I share your Frustration at such Brass neck display here OceanFrog, this is in fact a good thing. The waste and corruption of the FF led governments have come into sharp focus lately. So the more our Value for money Politicans like the unelected senator come out with excretement like the above, the better. It may highlight in no uncertain terms the kind of Hustlers these people really are. I hope that article is discussed in every household in the land.

ps. The bould Donie has form in the make-believe statements dept. In April of last year, he opined "We have a duty to tell first-time house buyers, young couples with no previous experience, that there is unbelievable value in the marketplace today. It will not last forever. It is never the wrong time to do the right thing."

Words fail me

Interesting. I vote we take this prevaricating, self-aggrandising gobs.hite at his word on this particular statement. The Truth Commission into TDs' expenses which the revolutionary government establishes, once it is in situ, should go back at least ten years.

Indeed. We got great giggles out of that one on the Pin.

Hopefully Donie, and his ilk, will soon be joining the unemployment line. I wish he could be sentenced to a life of KVI beans and no golf.
