I think eventually a deal will be worked out with the Alliance and I don't see either of the Unionist parties accepting the SDLP taking it. However there is no harm in putting someone forward, if only to get themsevles into the news again and they do have a fair argument that they should get it.
Yes it is a far argument and its very disingenuous to accuse them of yapping and crying as some have done.

If they're genuine in their outrage Margaret Ritchie will resign from the Executive when Maginness doesn't get the post.

I'm getting a bit fed up with all this Stormont nonsence.

Have you seen their new election posters?

Who are you to dictate what people should and should not do?
Maybe you prefer people who threaten to resign from the executive if they don't get their way, but don't actually mean it

If Maragaret Ritichie were to lead the SDLP into opposition in protest at the discrimination against her party it would be a bold move indeed. And if she doesn't it will just show that the SDLP are a bunch of mealy-mouthed whingers. Ritchie showed true courage in standing up to the NIO and the rest of the Executive over the UDA bribe money and earned a lot of plaudits for doing so. I hope that she'd do the same again and resign her ministry - should the need arise.

So Margaret Ritchie, is a a mealy -mouthed whinger for pointing out that Sinn Fein ensured that the SDLP's entitlement to the Justice Ministry was not realised?

telling people to 'keep your mouth shut' a typical Sinn fein strategey

1. You didn't even read what I said.
2. You're reduced to inventing things I didn't say.

Both the SDLP and UUP should quite whinging about being sidelined by Sinn Féin and the DUP and withdraw from the Executive. Their current strategy of opposing the Executive within from confuses the electorate and is deeply flawed.

Political substance over puerile backbiting!

Good night.
