Default Sunday World editor beaten up by Loyalist narco terrorists.

The Northern editor of the Sunday World newspaper has been beaten up in the centre of Belfast.

Jim McDowell, 60, was kicked and punched by four men just yards from City Hall on Wednesday afternoon. He was injured in the head, arms and legs.

"They gave me a furious beating,"

"I heard this voice behind me saying either: 'You killed my brother' or 'You're trying to get my brother killed', and before I even turned around I was jumped from the back and received a big dig in the side of my head, then a dig in the other side of my head."

"I was punched and beaten to the ground in front of screaming children and screaming women, and this is in front of Belfast City Hall."

"My biggest problem is the arrogance of these hoods,"

"These boys didn't even run away. They swaggered away, as if it doesn't matter."

"They won't intimidate me, they won't intimidate my paper. We will still expose these boys. They're para-mafia. They're paramilitaries. I think I know they're drug dealers."

"What does it say about the freedom of expression and the freedom of the Press?"

Are the security services still protecting these para-militaries/drug dealers

It certainly looks like it as they behave as if they are above the law.

Absolutely, the second one of the men charged with beating Kevin McDaid to death was just released on bail; this is despite the fact that John Thompson jailed for 12 years in 2002 for the possession of a firearm and being in possession of information likely to be useful to terrorists.

This rag prints lie after lie. It names and shames without any proof. Regardless it gives no one the right to do this. There has to be a better to channel your frustrations. People want the truth. The sunday world never lets the facts get in the way of a good story.

I guess the same can be said for most of the tabloids
