| PJ Bradley has had his election posters ripped down, as happened a number of times before in previous elections- when will the idiots that do this realise that their bullying tactics won't stop the people of South Down electing PJ yet again? I've put the story here: http://elblogador.blogspot.com/2007/02/ ... diots.html

Sinn Féin will advance in this constituency partly because of the hard work and effectiveness at grass roots level of the local representatives in the area.

| It makes a change from Alasdair McDonnell taking down Carmel Hanna's posters in South Belfast (see Slugger) or Thomas Burns taking down a Noreen McClelland poster naughtily placed stragically by the chapel in Antrim (big splash in the Antrim Guardian this week). Still, makes a change from the usual comment on this board about South Down - Sinn Féin due to gain third seat on the back of being just the bestest, finest, Irishest constituency workers ever. You only just scraped the second last time. Have a sense of perspective.

| Whilst I don't want to follow other fools and make too many assumptions on this, I think it's worth pointing out that SDLP careerists are not all the fluffy bulwark against the evil Shinners that they, and some of thier crutches in the south, hold them up to be. Unfortunately, the thing about being a careerist is that you would shaft your best mate if it could get you ahead, which is often what bickering SDLP candidates have done in the past in situations wher a seat may be percieved to be be squeezed. There are many examples, and even more allegations (though not in the Sindo stable, funnily enough) of infighting SDLP supporters and candidates spiking thier running mates campaign if it is seen to impinge on the others "turf". Again, unfortunately (for the SDLP and the SF haters) the guys who took these down are far more likely to be SDLP "bullies" working for the other candidate, rather than Republican "bullies" with nothing better do do. Plain facts. Funny how these guys never had this gusto when it came to many other matters, eh? |

And, as has already been said, if politics down here are anything to go by, there is as much chance it is a running mate spiking him, as an opponent I mean Mattie Mc Graths posters were tampered with down here at the weekend, and if I was asked who was behind it, I'd say other FFers
