    Irish Times' Dan O'Brien: "no parliament anywhere in democratic Europe is weaker than the Oireachtas"

    The Irish Times' Dan O'Brien writes in this morning's Irish Times business section about the Fiscal Treaty, advocating a Yes vote on the basis that a Yes would be a "Yes to Brussels and end decades of Irish fiscal ineptitude". O'Brien makes an interesting point, saying that the Irish parliament is the weakest of any in Europe. Is he right?

    Fiscal Treaty and Arts in education meetings resume today in Leinster House

    After their Easter break the Oireachtas resumes it's public work today, with the Subcommittee on the Fiscal Treaty holding meetings with Joe Higgins, Micheal Martin, Eamon Gilmore and Catherine Murphy. The Dáil and Seanad don't sit until tomorrow. You can see today's schedule in full below the fold.

    Fiscal Treaty and using the Arts to tackle disadvantage feature today in Leinster House

    Whilst the Dáil and Seanad are on Easter holidays for another two weeks (!) it doesn't mean the work of Leinster House comes to a complete stop, not this week at least. The Fiscal Stability Treaty and using the Arts to tackle disadvantage are both being discussed today in Leinster House.
