Default No FF TDs among 15 panellists on last Q&A !

RTÉ's Q&A ends tonight - The Irish Times - Mon, Jun 29, 2009

Three panels......and not a single FF TD amongst them. There is to be an "interview" with Brian Cowen - conveniently dodging the need for any unpleasant debate.

This seems extraordinary?

Quote:
Tonight’s final programme will feature an interview with Taoiseach Brian Cowen as well as three separate panels dominated by senior politicians.

The first panel will feature, Minister for Health Mary Harney, Fine Gael leader Enda Kenny, Labour spokesman on justice Pat Rabbitte, tax lawyer Suzanne Kelly, and Senator David Norris.

The second panel will feature Irish Times columnist and writer John Waters, former Progressive Democrat minister Liz O’Donnell, Fergus Finlay, former Chef de Cabinet of the Irish Labour Party and Chief Executive of Barnardo, solicitor Catherine Ghent, and Vice President of Sinn Féin Mary Lou McDonald.

Green party leader and Minister for the Environment John Gormley, Noel Whelan, Barrister and Political commentator, MEP Mairead McGuinness, Editor of the Irish Daily Star Ger Colleran and Eddie Hobbs will be on the third panel.

Oh good God - Ger Colleran!!!

*vomits on keyboard*

And Catherine Ghent - another regular who really has no reason to be there.

Don't worry McCafferty, no FF TD means there will be no one to shout down the other side or talk over them when a valid criticism is being made.

And SF sends McDonald again. They really need to find someone else, it's difficult to find a political program that she's not on. Especially since she isn't an elected representative in any way.

Are you saying FF should be upset at not being included, or are you saying that we should be upset because they're not being held to account?

Parties don't 'send' representatives to programmes like Q&A. Individual politicians are invited.

Sure wouldn't all the FF TDs have fecked off to Marbella on the holidays by now. You could hardly expect them to hang around Dublin to deal with the worst financial crisis in the history of that state. Most of them are teachers after all - they are no used to working in July or August.

Incorrect, and typical of your ignorance.

Q&A strictly rotate the political slots available, based proportionally on the Party's representation in the Dáil

I agree, but hope you include all those non elected people who are starting to tell us the way to vote on the Lisbon Treaty, We
have enough of Pat Cox and especially Garret Fitzgerald who was fired out of office nearly twenty years ago

Interesting to see an FG rep on every panel.
