Is there any more info on this guy, or is he just another fresh face with no policies?

Sinn Fein seem to be applying a shotgun tactic (pardon the pun) in Counties Laois and Offaly at the moment. Shoot a load of young impressionable candidates into the field and see what happens.
His name in Aaron Delaney. He is a 23 year old full time farmer. He has worked behind the scenes for some time but is only new to public politics.

You must admit from a political point of view it makes complete sense to contest this electoral area. This is not a shotgun tactic by the shinners . This guy is around for the long haul! And between Laois and Offaly they have only 2 candidates under 30. This hardly constitutes a 'load of young impressionable candiates'.

i belive you know and like your politics so you shoul'nt take anything away from young people who put their names forward for election until you know something about them.

The way politics has been disgraced over the last 15 years in this country by many politicians, its a wonder any young person wants to be involved in elections.

i would encourage this no matter what the party. Better this for all our futures or we willl loose them to other countries!

Councillor Moloney now thinks it is ok to edit other peoples posts.

This shows the true infantile nature of this mans character. This man is not fit to hold public office and it is hard to believe his brother John moloney is a junior minister in this Fianna Fail government.( speaking of BEDS there is one in Portlaoise close to your families heart) sharing it that is!!!

We need rid of this arrogance and ignorance. Role on the 5th of June.

And Michael please answer the question on the junkets you went on to poland and the USA at taxpayers expense. You avoid the hard questions eh?

What's all this then? Since he's trying to portray himself as someone who gets value out of every red cent in the Council it seems hypocritical to be taking holidays at taxpayers expense.

Default Councillor Michael Moloney the MOD?

Ok to everyone on this thread i have a question. Michael Moloney believes it is ok to edit other peoples posts for his own purposes.

How may other posts has this person edited?

Do people think that this goes against the purpose of this site? ie. to post your opinions without them been misrepresented.

This person is a county councillor after all.Is this type of behaviour common in his council work? Any other councillors or public reps feel free to reply.

Would Michael Moloney ' edit ' council documents for his own needs?

I remember not too long ago talking to Labour's Larry Kavanagh after a leaflet came through the door of a house I was renting in Mountmellick concerning the Council's caving in to the building of a new commerical site outside Mountmellick would destroy Mountmellick. This was distributed by one, Cllr. Michael Moloney.

However Cllr. Kavanagh told me the details and it was quiet different than what Cllr. Moloney's edited version of events, printed on this leaflet, stated. I think most will know the story now

So in response to your question, I'd say its highly likely that Cllr. Moloney edits Council documents to suit his needs, and he also takes his own meaning from each Council meeting.

As regards value for money, if you have all the facts at your fingertips you can see that I am amoung the few elected members of Laois County Council who have been to so few conferences over my five years on the Council.

The record shows that I amoung a very small group of Councillors that have claimed only a fraction of expenses relative to the majority of the FF / FG / SF / PD / Lab councillors who over the five years claimed every expense going.

Get the facts, before going out on a winger and making a fool of yourself.

One thing about the lefties, facts don't stand in their way when they are digging themselves into a hole, the just keep digging.

Well I don't mind Councillors claiming expenses if the Conferences are in anyway justified. I know that any attended by Labour Reps are genuine, such as the annual VEC conference in Donegal.

The question is, what would take you on trips to Poland and Tennessee? Of what benefit were these trips to your constituents in Mountmellick, a Town which neither you, your FF brother, nor FG have done anything for!

I don't have all the information on individual Councillors expenses nor do I know where to obtain it, but the responsibility lies with you and all other elected reps to explain their expenses.

Also, most of these candidates were and mostly still are unknown!
Fianna FAIL,especially in Offaly know all about knuckle dragging.A big bunch of hillbilly hicks. Remember youtube?

Still theres nothing like meeting a bitter Fianna Failer. You know there up ******************** creek when they focus on the shinners. FG have ye rattled and will destroy ye in these locals!

I notice that reference has been made on many occasions about overseas trips by Ml. Moloney and questions asked of him, yet he always ignores them. He is quick to go off on his usual worn out anti-Sinn Féin rants at the drop of a hat but won't respond to questions about junkets. Put up or shut up!
