I have stated over and over and over and over again, that any problems arising from a decision to allow this family stay here would have to be addressed. However the scaremongering that we would be unindated with claims for asylum does not impress me either.
You were here when we were inundated with thousands and thousand of immigrants dropping their asylum claim at the same time as they produced a baby? It was most definitely a pull factor. However, this would not be an entitlement but a "favour" so it may be that it would not prove so, though don't rely on the rumor mill to get the nuances right.

There is no "we" Hopi. "We" are not coming to get you!! It's just a turn of phrase!

Yes, he could do so. No legal difficulty there. I fail to see what particular circumstances exist here to justify it though. In fact, given recent revelations, he has more reason than ever to enforce the original deportation.

Olakundle was merely allowed stay to finish his leaving cert, as far as I remember. He should have never been deported until he sat it anyway.

These children are at risk, to deport under those circumstances is a poor reflection on us.
So it every child in Nigeria at risk, to a greater or lesser degree. Is the answer to let every nigerian with a child who arrives here stay?

Will feel that their mother would have a lot to answer for. It would have nothing to do with anyone else but her. There was no need to use fraudulent documents and this can not be tolerated

What about deportation to another EU state under the Dublin Convention? We could do that with a clear conscience because these are safe countries. What goes on in Nigeria should have no bearing on the question of invoking the Dublin Convention, as any notional danger did not take place within the EU.

In any case, I can only say that the fact you liberals still believe this woman who has admitted using forged documents can only be regarded as astonishing.

Your just being trite now. Answer the substantive issue. There is about a 25% incidence of FGM in Nigeria. Do we then never deport any Nigerian child from Ireland or just these ones?

I think this was answered somewhere above Taoiseach. We cannot use the Dublin Convention now. We could have originally possibly. We decided to process the claim and have done so. No Dublin Convention transfer is now open to the Irish authorities. Its deport to Nigeria or nowhere at this Stage unless she is legally entitled to reside elsewhere.

Are you sure? Source?

BTW there is no evidence that any Nigerian we deported in the past has come to any harm consequent on that deportation.

BTW Kevin Doyle, are you a solicitor and have you been involved in asylum-cases? Just trying to understand your motives.

A tear jerker question, designed to lead people away from the facts of the case. Pamela has lied at every stage of the process, has defrauded the state, and suckered in many gullible people, and abused their good will in the most awful way possible. The children are not in danger, and should be sent back. Pamela should be deported, once she has served a prison sentence for her actions.

You can't prove it. Neither can I. Your solution is to let the children take the risk. Mine is to let the state take the risk.

Or yet again, will children pay the price for this state's failings?
It should be possible for the Izevbekhais to prove that Elizabeth existed, even if they can't prove the cause of her death. As you have noted, DNA tests would be evidence. Even if they have reservations about digging up her body, then, at the very least, DNA tests on Adrian Izevbekhai would prove that the doctor was wrong/lying when he claimed that Pamela's first child was born in 2000.
