Are you only concerned with this particular family and agree that mere generalised problems in Nigeria do not result in a right for every Nigerian person with children to remain in Ireland. If you have only concern for this particular family I wonder why. |

| Thats an irrelevance in the circumstances, Ody, as it remains for our State to determine her claim. It may be something that they took into account in determining her claims veracity, in terms of credibility. We can only deport her to Nigeria so it is there you have to consider. |

It's all about credibility in determining a claim, in the absence of documentary proof. Proof in documentary form, obviously, would have been a real death cert. etc. Without that the only method of determining a claim is credibility, in terms of the written form submitted and the subsequent interview and appeal, be it written or oral. Obviously, the method of her travel caused some concern and now the forged document is the nail in the coffin of credibility, in terms of Pamela's case. Read my other contributions on the asylum issue. I am, if I do say so, reasonable on the issue and usually am the one getting it in the neck from the more right wingers on the site. I have always stood for due process and the proper determination of claims. However, on this issue, her credibility is in tatters and that, unfortunately, is no basis on which to grant someone leave to remain in Ireland. |

I was not alleging any conspiracy theory. Just that if you did not have the above view you would not be consistent is all!! |

| Brenda Power is spot-on. Down with the PC-brigade in Dublin 4, Leinster House and the IT. D.Harry, does it count as grief when the child never existed? Give that woman an Oscar.
