I completely agree about that Páidí Manning chap. Awful fecker. I wouldn't give him a kick, let alone a tick.

I do however take grave exception to what you said about my good chum Frankie Mulqueen. He's a lovely, auld soul really. Bit on the short side but he makes up for it in personality. =P

Wow, wonder who this is? haha Frankie Mulqueen has no personality?? Have you ever met Frankie, it's the last thing I'd ever expect to be said about him?

    My Predictions:

    President: Patrick Molloy
    Vice President: Carol Madigan
Panel: William Quill, Colm Taylor, Bernard Ahern, Lucy O Shea (or whoever runs from UCC if she doesn't)
NWRO: D.J. Kelly or Tommy English
LRO: Paidi Manning ( wouldn't be the worst to get him in there and shake things up )
MRO: Frankie Mulqueen or Eileen Lynch (seems that she is the UCC candidate)
DRO: Eoin O'Driscoll or Dale McDermott

    President; Paddy Molloy against Brid..

Tough one to call but Paddy put in a huge amount of effort over the past year being DRO .. He is a popular guy .. and will beat Brid..She is quite two faced.. gets on great with half the membership but is despised by the other..

Vice President... Could be a threeway between Carol Madigan, Colm Taylor and Conor Crean... to early to say who'll win.. all things being equal..YFG could do with better representation on exec council..

Panel.. Always a fight.. William Quill, Paidi Manning, Bernard Aherne all seem likely to go and get it.. a cork and limerick candidate to be thrown in to ...

DRO: Dale seems born for this but will Trinity and UCD allow it?

CRO; Tommy English a shoe in .. But Cillian Griffey could challenge him .. even though he's done a horrible job.

MRO: Eilenn Lynch V Frankie perhaps...

Looks to be heating up already.. Think the venue is a great choice.. Centre of the country and a nice hotel by the looks of it!

I agree with most of this. I think Carol will go for president or vp. MRO will be a close one because its hard to beat a UCC candidate and to be honest I dont think Eileen would be up for it.

Given the Taoiseach's State of the Nation address, Fine Gael is not to blame for Young Fine Gael.

YFG currently has as much diplomacy and likeability among the wider public, as a battle ship on a search and destroy mission.

YFG needs to assess what exactly it is that it stands for, even if it is a snail or an Una sa gúna gorm!

Mere adulation at Kaiser Kenny, and free condoms to all under 16 will not suffice as policy.

A bit of principle, is what is required for the future leaders of Ireland.

And I have no doubt that some of their number will rise to the occasion, in this regard!

Colum Roche has told me on several occasions (as recently as last Tuesday) that he has been mounting a run for Vice President for months now. I think Colum would be a fine candidate with a lot to give to YFG. His record as LRO is second to none and all of us in UCD feel he would be a great Vice President and future President.

As for LRO, MJ Murphy was instrumental in bringing Maynooth back to life as a branch after it's decline and he will do great things to continue to work of Colum.

As for Conor Crean, I don't see how anyone could vote for someone who is a former card carrying member of Fianna Fáil. Will this be the first National Exec member who was also a member of Ogras national exec? And he's still chair of Mallow Ogra Fianna Fáil!!

I think Páidí Manning and Mr. Mulqueen are fine salesmen for our party as well as great thinkers and debaters. They've done a lot of work for our party while others on the shiftless exec have done nothing. They are real leaders. and I wish them the best.

    Yay go YFG woohoo!

Are there any hot girls running? In my college days, YFG probably had the best collection of totty. The Greens were good as well, although you'd be wise to be wary of hippy girls
