Ógra Fianna Fáil advocating longer nightclub opening hours.

At Societies day in UCC the youth wing of Fianna Fáil used a proposal for longer nightclub opening hours as a means of garnering support. What's more notable is that as well as having a stall alongside the other political groups in the Student Centre, they were handing out their leaflets from an AIB stall. When questioned on this they claimed to own the bank!

Should nightclubs be opened up longer as ÓFF are suggesting?

At least the young FFers believe in having a bit of fun. If this was YFG they´d be acting all responsible, pontificating about the social dangers and PC aspects of longer nightclub opening hours - but then, in fairness, you have to allow for the fact that they have to be up early to milk the cows.

Don't know if that's true but it certainly is a good anecdote for describing the FF mentality. In fact there are two in the post, the above, and trying to extend opening hours so that the party doesn't have to stop.

I can't see why there isn't 24hour opening if the pub owner believes there is a market for it. It probably costs more to enforce opening hours than it would be to police 24 hour opening.

Longer night club opening is a good idea.

But maybe they should answer why the party they are a member of hasn't budged on the issue.

The Gardai work shifts, if they are on duty at 2AM they more than likely on duty until 6-7AM. In anycase, I think one of the key reasons for the proposal is to reduce crime - longer opening hours tends to mean people leaving of their own accord instead of being forced out all together leading to anti-social behaviour.

FF introduced a law a couple of years ago which was basically aimed at killing off nightclubs, as well introducing the ridiculous rule where off-licences have to shut at 10pm.

Putting the Publican in Republican Party alright.

They're a youth party advocating longer nightclub hours in a university in order to get the support of students. And they're the youth party of Fianna Fáil.

They don't believe in anything. Fianna Fáil lie consistently, they lie and lie again...

Hang on, I didn't realise it was Sailor who posted the above.
Heh, the party can do no wrong. All hail Fianna Fáil!
